do you have an underwear brand that you love? if so, please tell. i wore hanky panky for years and then got tired of the lace not staying flat against my skin. and then i tried Gap which were great for a bit but fell apart after about three months. i actually really love the from Madewell but i mostly wear those to bed.  i have lots of pretty less practical lacy pairs that are fun too but i’m looking for something everyday practical that can withstand some wearings and washings. and, now that it’s september it feels like it’s time to make sure we’re fully prepped and ready for getting cozy! i recently discovered which has sent me down a hole of wanting to completely update my PJ/lounge game.  below are some of their pieces and others that i’d love to sport this fall and winter! – joanie

($58) –  i’m a sucker for a classic sleeping set and i love the updated version of turning the shirt into a dress. also very useful because who likes sleeping in pants?

($58) – appropriate for day or night, love this little sleepy tee.

($68) – i like the matching set but also think the shorts are good on their own with one of your own sweatshirts or t-shirts thrown on top.

($98) –  i purchased a pair of these sweatpants in grey a long time ago and they are still my favorite. the taped ankle makes them appropriate to wear out or around the house when you have overnight guests.

($198) –  this feels like the perfect thing to bring on a romantic getaway, not too fussy, sexy and understated all at once.

($110) – love the classic style of these sweatpants in this soft neutral color with the kick of stars on the leg.

($75) – velvet is a trend that is here to stay for awhile so you might as well jump in and these jewel toned adidas pants are the perfect place to start!

($44) – i love a good champion or hanes sweatshirt so when todd snyder did a collaboration with them and updated some of champions classic pieces it was a match made in heaven. i love their classic zip and crew neck styles and also the cropped track pants. lots of good pieces on sale !

($168) – pretty and soft. would be great with a sweater or cardigan thrown on top!

with winter just around the corner i’m thinking of cozy spaces to relax in. i love the idea of making a little haven in your home where you can relax and unwind with a good book, like a nook overflowing with pillows and cozy throws. here are a few spaces i’m inspired by right now. what is your ideal relaxation spot in your home? –

whatcha up to this weekend? i’m headed to northern california for one of my dearest friend’s weddings (being held on a ranch!). excited to celebrate and see some old friends! i’m actually in the wedding so i don’t need to worry about what to wear but below are nine things i would wear to a fall wedding (because dressing for a wedding can be hard!). and, if you’re a bride can you please wear ?! i’m totally obsessed with it.

also, i recently got microbladding done on my eyebrows. it was a real stretch for me because i am almost zero maintenance when it comes to beauty, basically wash my face and go. so i was totally freaked out to do it but it couldn’t have been easier and totally painless. and, it made the most subtle but impactful difference. you can see my before and after picture . have you thought about doing it? i went to who is truly an eyebrow genius and the only person i’d trust with my eyebrows and a needle! anyway, if you’re considering it and scared like i was, don’t be, it really is so quick and easy. now, back to style! – joanie

($100) – i’d like to start by saying that in my opinion, depending on the formality of the wedding, that pants are a great option. pair them with a pair of formal looking shoes and a cool clutch and you’re golden.

($48) – classic and slightly form fitted, great with a red lip and a short hair cut or hair worn up.

($135) – i love this color and think that a cocoon dress is a very flattering option. the thing people forget about wedding attire is that you’re in it for such a long time and eating, drinking, dancing, etc. it’s got to be comfortable!

($60) – the little metallic detail on this is great and as the model is showing us, it is made to move!

($72) – the dark floral is perfect for fall and the dramatic off the shoulder is a pretty touch.

($158) – covered up on top but with a little flow in the skirt. the whimsical lip print is super sweet too!

($170) – i’m a sucker for Rebecca Taylor’s feminine pieces and i love the one shoulder, that it’s made in cotton and has an elastic waist!

($80) – when in doubt, wear an old dress from your closet and a new bag!

($90) – this navy jumpsuit is chic and has a built in necklace, no jewelry required!

and we’re back with another salmon dish! we prepared this one with white rice because as much as i like brown rice (and its health benefits) white rice is just where it’s at sometimes. i love how the sauce soaks into the rice leaving it full of flavor. in an effort to cut down on prep time, we did not marinate the salmon, we simply prepared the sauce and drizzled it over the fish after cooking and before serving. that worked really well as the sauce didn’t have time to cook off with the heat. my favorite way to prepare the fish is to brush with oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper and than prepare a cast iron pan with avocado oil. get the pan really hot over a medium/high flame and than put the fish on. 3-4 minute per side. remove and cover for a few minutes before serving! – joanie
