Oh my gosh, a custom tapestry?! Brilliant! I’m cheating, because it looks like I’d love each and every one that’s on Maryanne’s site (). I’d want a custom tapestry that was predominantly neutral, but had pops of color – and perhaps some metallic, too!

ps. heads up that it looks like we can’t individually link to tapestries – not sure if that’s just a UX problem I encountered, but wanted to let you know! 🙂

Or how about something (k)not so expected, like this () with more of a linear color pattern throughout? Oh my goodness gracious, I do (k)not mean to get carried away, but this here () is just so perfect!

Oh man, so I think I scrolled back forever to find one that I really connected with. It would have to be this,
It’s not finished but my grandma’s favorite color was purple, everything she had was purple. My house is black and white and the though of having a pop of purple in my house would be the perfect memory of her to go with her amethysts that sit on my shelves.

Maryanne Moodie is one of my all time favorite weavers and I love every work she has ever made! Her wallhangings are gorgeous and her use of color and texture is to die for! She inspires me to weave and she’s very forward thinking in her designs which is also great inspiration to push the limits. As someone with a BA in studio art and an overwhelming interest and passion for art altogether, her work identifies with me as being more than just a decoration for a wall in a home, but also as works of art that communicate feelings and ideas through color and space, as well as incredible texture. Some of my favorites are:

(love the chunky rya knots and the colors)

(love the abstract shapes and variety of colors)

(LOVE the texture and fringe and colors)

(all of these are gorgeous and the colors are perfect!)

I live in a Colorado A-Frame house, so I would love design elements that mirror our high peaked roof in colors inspired by the sunrise/sunset. What fun!

    Drea says:

loving the colors! but i’d really love a more muted, neutral piece with texture! loving all of these beautiful pieces.

    Sarah says:

I love the texture of the first two links, though maybe the brighter color of the third. If nothing else, now I know there are classes!

    Nicole says:

So pretty much impossible to narrow it down! These are just too pretty for words. Love this funky little guy,
I would love a softish palette, gold never hurt anyone and cozy cozy cozy!

    valerie says:

    oh how i love this!
loving this one and the natural vibe >>
also loving these, especially the one in the middle– as an artist, i love that this one reminds me of my paint palette >>
i envision one with a soft color palette with a couple pops of bright colors, perhaps reminiscent of a bouquet of flowers.

i’ve been following maryanne on for awhile now and LOVE her tapestries. they are the perfect mix of color and textures – so lovely! I’d love a tapestry featuring muted brights, tassels, geometric shapes, and of course, some of the puffy yarn for added texture! A few of my faves:

    Lauren says:

They’re all pretty! Maybe a mono chrome with lots of texture.

    Melanie Love says:

So hard to choose! I am loving the organic, almost landscape feel of this happy piece:

I would go for a mix of neutrals, jewel tones and a dash of goldenrod.

    Carmen says:

I’m in love with every single one of her pieces. They’re absolutely beautiful. I love the texture and color of this one: I would be so happy to have one similar to put in my bedroom.

    Justine says:

I love Maryanne’s colorful designs! I was lucky enough to travel to Morocco recently and have some crazy colorful throw pillows that I would love to pull out in the tapestry – magenta, blue, green, and of course GOLD!

    Jessica says:

When u look at then u can really see the love and work she has put into them. Really good ends and beautiful colours and designs. If i got one it would be for my sister in law as she just moved to Charleston to a new house so it would be a wonderful 1st gift (although i’d love it). I think my fave its like number 9: plainish with different pastel colour to match with everyth 🙂 i will have my fingers crossed to get it, pleeeeease.

    Ashley R. says:

She is so talented! I am in love with them all, but especially like the simplicity and fun colors of this one:

    Monica says:

pick me pick me! Struggling to redecorate my small apartment on a strict budget!

I really love a geometric themes like this one:

I also have some air plants that would look adorable in a tapestry with earthy vibes like this one:

    Carla H says:

She is a very versatile designer! I though I found her style but some pieces look very different from each other’s. I like the one in neutral tones that is in front of a white decal that has small golden and black triangles. She uses golden and more natural fibers there ( I think) and that piece seems timeless.

    Alicia says:

I love the one in the middle!

    Brianna says:

Wow, I am so glad I stumbled upon Maryanne’s work!
I just moved to the LA area and have been looking for something to spruce up the walls of our laid-back Cali abode. Would love to surprise my housemates with one of MM’s beautiful pieces! Hard to choose, but these three are my favs. Our space has an eclectic desert vibe; I think the multi-colored textures of these three would give the room an extra pop. The poofy weaves are especially fun!

    Mollie P says:

I really love the idea of decorating walls with things other than just picture frames and paintings. These woven wall hangings are the fresh breath of air that I need! I really love this one… but I think if I were to order a custom hanging I would want vibrant colors, similar to some of the bright colors you would find on a parrot. <3

    Lauren says:

omg this is the BEST giveaway ever. I am such a huge fan of Maryanne! One of my all time favorites is . I was fortunate to take her class last year and it was so much fun! Her talent is amazing and her use of color is perfection. It’s my dream to own one of her wall hangings. I would definitely go for her vibrant colors and I think I’d have to ask for her signature triangles.

    venea says:

I absolutely love this macrame piece. it’s simple tan and cream, just like I’d like mine for my bedroom. so refreshing! love her work so.

    Cristina says:

This one! this one! this one!! Just got a new couch for the basement and the colors here are exactly what I need!!!

Such gorgeous work. Thank you for the opportunity!

    Sarah says:

    I love the geometric ones!

For a custom one, a bunch of gray and black triangles!

    Leah says:

    Love this!

    Jill B says:

Maryanne is such a artisan with what she does. I could never make my own weave. I love the combination of string with the incredibly h weave mixed in. Im very into geometric patterns and gold. Perhaps mi some beautiful patterns that resemble something out of a Mary Blair painting would be so extraordinary.

Very Nice! Everything is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing post & suggest idea’s for wall hanging tapestries.
